Kevin has significant experience with cooking and his signature style has been to create and cook dishes that pair well with craft beer. He has worked for Barley & Hops, Roast House Pub as well as for Flying Dog Brewery in a food truck. His extensive experience in various capacities in the food industry and his unique vision for cooking new and unique recipes has earned him the prestigious position as the head chef @ the PB DYE Golf Club.

Episode 6 – Joanne Horn – Executive Director of Frederick CREST (CENTER FOR RESEARCH & EDUCATION IN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY)


I had the honor of interviewing Joanne Horn who is the Executive Director of Frederick CREST, an organization dedicated to fostering relationships between graduate students and the biotech industry for internships, externships as well as research collaborations between the two. The organization also helps match qualified candidates from academic school programs to positions in the biotech industry which could be any STEM based employer including the government as well as the major players in the private biotech industry such as big pharmaceuticals. The center also helps academic students get industry based opportunities to conduct qualified research work in support of their thesis with possible future employment opportunities upon graduation.

Episode 5 – Robert Miller – Distillery Lane Ciderworks

Robert Miller is the owner and head orchardist at Distillery Lane Ciderworks over at Jefferson, MD in Frederick, County. I had the honor of interviewing him and taking a tour of his very awesome ciderworks on a cold January morning. They make over 15 different types of “hard” cider (alcoholic) as well as fresh cider (non-alcoholic) in addition they also sell apples seasonally. Episode 4 – Darren Bucare – Spiritual Consultant

Darren Bucare is a spiritual consultant with a degree in polytheism. His primary area of specialty is Vedic palm reading and tarot cards both of which he uses to enable his clients to visualize their future and help guide them with their life goals. Darren’s work have been featured on A&E, BBC and he has consulted for major motion pictures. He currently works in Alexandria, VA at Sticks and Stones where he can be hired for readings as well as teaching workshops (his next one is on Saturday, January 27th, details can be found here) . He currently resides in the City of Frederick.

Rory Colwell can fix your computer, solve your internet woes, he’ll even talk to the internet service provider for you to save you the trouble and he does all this for a very fair price and won’t charge you to just evaluate the problem unlike the big box stores. He’s a wealth of information on technology in general and we spoke about a variety of topics including why he started his business as well as common problems people have with their computers and how to spend your money wisely instead of buying that new laptop you don’t need among other things.
