11th of August 

National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race

Relive a 19th century sport that now finds revival in the form of a multi lap race right in downtown Frederick!

Infantry Day

Reenactors performing what life was like for civil war soldiers in the 19th century. Live firing demonstrations included, details for times and location here!

18th of August

Key City Steampunk Festival

Our very own steampunk festival set in a Victorian style hotel with art, music and more for three days straight! Details here and on Facebook here!



July 2018

4th of July

An all day family friendly event starting at noon at Baker park and goes on until the fireworks display at dusk. Plenty of food and activities and of course fireworks! Details here!

14th of July

Corvette Show

Over 30 Corvettes on display at Shab Row! Details here!

21st of July 

Absinthe Release & Two-Year Anniversary Party @ Tenth Ward Distillery

Two year anniversary party over at our local distillery as well the release of their absinthe! Details here!

StarQuest Convention

June 2018

1st to 3rd of June

25th Annual Frederick Festival of the Arts

Art vendors and music and it takes place in Carroll Creek Park. The event is free and more details here.

2nd of June

8th Annual Brewfest on the Farm

Featuring beers from local breweries along with food vendors and music! Tickets available here.

June 9th 

Frederick Wine Festival

Carroll Creek Park will host the 3rd annual wine festival. The event will be held in two three hour sessions and tickets and more details can be found here.

June 16th-17th

Maryland Lavender Festival at Springfield Manor

Beer, wine, spirits with food trucks and beautiful scenery awaits you at this event. More details and ticket information here!

June 30th 

Frederick Jazz Festival
The festival takes place at the  Carroll Creek Park Amphitheater, details here!


May 2018 

5th of May

First Saturday: Mayfest!

Downtown stays open late with free entertainment and stores hosting special events. In addition a free trolley transports you to various parts of downtown Frederick and you can hop and off as you please to visit your favorite stores or just simply explore. More details here.

2018 Asian Heritage Month Festival
Come and enjoy free entertainment and fun activities that include performances,
traditional music as well as arts and crafts that celebrate Asian culture. Details here!
Wings ‘n Wheels Event
Come and enjoy planes, classic automobiles and motorcycles at this event taking place at
the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) headquarters right here in Frederick,
MD located at the Frederick Municipal Airport. Details here!
10th of May
Alive @ Five on Carroll Creek (Recurring every Thursday through September)
A recurring weekly event taking place every Thursday from May to September featuring
live music from rocking bands from all over. Admission is $5, happy hour is available
and therefore the event is 21+ only and takes place from 5-8 PM. Details here!
12th of May
Maryland Craft Beer Festival
Our very own beer festival taking place at Carroll Creek Park featuring over 40
breweries and I am told this year they will feature some breweries that have yet to open.
Tickets are ONLY AVAILABLE IN ADVANCE so please get them
19th of May
Beer and Bacon Festival
Two beer festivals in one month! How lucky are we? As the name implies there will be beer tastings and there will be lots of bacon for you to consume. Details and tickets can be obtained here.


April 2018

7th of April

What a great way to come out and find out everything about electric cars and meet Shockley Honda’s latest hybrid offering the plug-in Clarity! Details here.

12th of April

The Frederick Keys – Baseball season is here! Our very own minor league kicks off with a game against the Potomac Nationals and the first fireworks of the season on the Friday the 13th! The first game starts on Thursday starts at 7PM! Details here.

21st of April

Frederick Craft Spirits Festival 2018 – Come and sample 10 distilleries that are all from our lovely state of Maryland! Details here.



March 2018 

5th of March -11th of March 

Frederick Restaurant Week! Here’s a list of participating restaurants. The website also provides an idea of relative pricing so you can get an idea for how much you want to spend before heading out!

24th of March 

Painting the Past – An event that’s perfect for children 8 and up where they get to pain toy soldiers in civil war uniform colors while the rangers provide details and information on civil war uniforms and overall life in the civil war military camp. You get to paint the toy and take it home with you! Details here.

Bunny Train – The Walkersville Southern Railroad is hosting another one of their famous special events train to celebrate Easter with the Bunny Train where a a short train allows you to enjoy the scenery and meet the Easter Bunny, all children are to receive a gift from the bunny as part of their ticket price! Another fun kid’s event. The train also runs on the 25th of March as well as the 31st of March. Details here.



February 2018

1st of February-

Tickets go on sale for the Beer and Bacon festival scheduled to take place on May 19th, 2018! More details here.

3rd of February-

First Saturday: “Fire in Ice”

The downtown frederick partnership runs a First Saturday event every month of the year but the February event is supposed to be quite spectacular with live ice sculptures, live ice sculpture carving demonstrations as well as live performing fire dancers. It’s a free event that promises to entertain the whole family.  In addition a free trolley transports you to various parts of downtown Frederick and you can hop and off as you please to visit your favorite stores or just simply explore. More details here.



January 2018

6th of January- 

The Cartoon Fest 2018 @ The Weinberg Center

The event features classical Looney Tunes cartoons featuring the work of legendary animator Chuck Jones. Experience it all with your kids or relive your childhood all for $7! Details at their website! That’s all folks!

Fermented Fun!

The event is a beer tour event that feature visits to three local breweries in the comfort of a shuttle and includes a snack stop at one of the breweries. The tour starts at 12:30PM and goes for $75 a person. More details here!

7th of January-

Model Railroad Annual Open House

Are model railroads your thing? Now’s your chance to check them out in their glory during the Frederick County Society of Model Engineers open house to take place every Sunday from 1PM to 4PM starting January 7th through February 4th. Details at their own facebook page!

13th of January- 

Maryland Brewery Tours

A Frederick county beer tour (Howard County tours are also available but hey this is the Frederick Podcast!) featuring Flying Dog Brewery, Red Sherman, Milkhouse Brewery and Tenth Ward Distilling. All can be had for $67.99! Details at their site here.
